The Three Siblings By Ellyssa Pearce

Abstract Painting by Peter D.

Should we burn it all? Burn all of it down?
Red needs to dominate all that it sees
Lets spread and rage all the things in our way
Everything must be burnt and glowing red
The red wants it gone and falling to dust

Lets wait and be mischievous says one
The middle, the leader wants to wait first
Wants to wait and plan, sneak around first
Yellow is patient but still burns with fight
Its bright and alive with neutral spite

They chant with natural hate that flame paints
Must be burnt must be burnt so we may live
For at least a minute longer than most
We are different than the rest and must test
The limits he gave us to be at best

The smallest of all is included as well
It sits in a ball of pure burning desire
It thinks of bright matters that don’t bight us back
Warmth, sparks, and crackle that mean us no harm
Lets just be pleasant and useful to others

The others laugh and spread with want to do damage
While the one only condenses and quickens
Red and yellow increase their reach light the dark
They engulf, increase in space but lighten
Orange begins to drop with dense tension

It falls to darkness but grabs hold the leader
Yellow in fear thrashes up for red
But due to their light hate which orange knew
They fell to a smolder of black and rain
So orange the smallest wins once again
