The light of the Gods shone down.
A reminder of the souls of heroes,
Who sacrificed it all for the
crown.
Transcended from their hallowed
barrows.
The light shines atop the marble
dome.
Its purity, its glory, its story.
A story for one to roam,
For one to feel free.
Ascending up the steps of old,
Into the vastness of time.
To feel like one can rule the
world;
A feeling, all too sublime.
This place that all men seek to
find,
An escape from the trials of
reality.
A place where all feels aligned,
Where life is no longer a duality.
Hey Cassady!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this poem a lot. It seems to me like you really took a sight many people consider mundane and look upon daily with indifference, and let your thoughts guide you to an uncommonly profound sort of existential meditation—very cool!

The language you chose made for a very grand poem, I liked it a lot.
