Perfect Day By Kayla Hall

In this most impeccable place of mine
laying on this perfect windowsill
with these kittens who are beyond compare
and this view on this most classical day
In this perfect room on such a clear day
and the most perfect rain storm just beyond
This perfect rainstorm in the horizon
This spotless place of mine will keep me dry
As the storm overtakes the sky above
A tune will play, little drummers beating
My kittens will pace adding to the rhythm
On this most perfect day the dog next door
will join and be superb singing vocals
The sun is almost gone on this long day
Time to unwind and listen to music
As I dance to this most perfect music
On this perfectly dreary afternoon
In these most perfect habits we have formed
together we connected; symphony
As the clouds fade out, the closing curtain
A final bow, the roses burst open
To be placed on the stage floor gracefully
Thorns taken off so is not blood not drawn
A most perfect flower to end tonight
Now this impeccable starry picture
Hangs in a white frame near the vanity
This perfect ending into this bedroom
Where my head lays on a gentle pillow
as it caresses me to a long sleep
A long slumber for the most perfect day

This Most Perfect Hill

BY LISA JARNOT
On this most perfect hill
with these most perfect dogs
are these most perfect people
and this most perfect fog

In this most perfect fog
that is the middle of the sea
inside the perfect middle of
the things inside that swing

In this most perfect rhyme
that takes up what it sees,
with perfect shelter from the
rain as perfect as can be,

In this most perfect day
at the apex of the sun
runs this most perfect
frog song that is roiling
from the mud

In these most perfect habits
of the waving of the trees,
through this imperfect language
rides a perfect brilliancy.
