Argenteuil

Sitting
all by themselves at the harbor,
I
think of a story I just heard,
Of
a man that wanted to have
The
best honeymoon that he could afford.
The
travel agency had a brochure
With
the most wonderful view of the beach.
All
the man could do was picture this view.
He
could not contain all his excitement.
Until
they arrived at their hotel room.
The
picture on the brochure was cropped out,
Hiding
an old ship graveyard to the right.
Sitting
all by themselves at the harbor,
Surrounded
by green patches of algae.
And
a green striped boat just off to the side,
The
pair of boats sit next to each other,
As
if they have known each other for years,
Sharing
all of their adventure stories.
Stories
of trips taken out to the sea.
Like
friends catching up after years apart,
Sharing
life's adventures over coffee.
Friends
that add color to each other's lives,
And
brightens up everything around them.
Bright
poles standing up like candles in cake,
Rocking
back and forth because of the wind,
Asking
to be blown out after a wish,
With
more and more candles added each year.
Aging
beautifully and gracefully,
The
pair will spend the rest of their long lives
Going
on so many more adventures,
Coming
home, reuniting with each other.
