Emotionless love By Whitney Osburn
A small portrait
painted of two in love.
Looked as
a blessing was sent from above,
A young
boy and young girl, together,
Supposed
to live happily ever after,
Young
love can be so powerful and strong.
Those three
small words lead to something so big.
A lifetime
of happiness to be lived,
The day
had finally come to be wed.
A young
boy and young girl, together,
Forever,
they were to be together.
A white
dress the girl would wear down the aisle.
While the
boy would wear a black tuxedo.
Green trees
blew behind the ceremony,
While
the young newlyweds stood together.
Pictures
were snapped to remember the day.
A young
boy and young girl, together,
Stood there
for what seemed like forever.
Neither one
smiled or looked at either one.
The young
girl’s two hands held a big bouquet,
While the
young boys two hands grasped her small hips.
A white tulle
veil draped the young girl’s small back
A tie
hung loosely upon the boy’s neck.
Motion
was hardly noticed, they stood in
One
spot, no smiles, no laughter just thought.
A young
boy and young girl, together,
Stood in
the garden with no emotion,
Their faces
were plain; they couldn’t see a thing,
Couldn’t
say a word, together they stood.
No eyes,
no lips, no cheeks, no nose, no nothing.
Two
newlyweds stood without any face.
Whitney,
ReplyDeleteI liked the simplicity of this Poem. It made me think of how young the newly weds were and that they were simply lost in a way without their faces. I liked this line; "Stood in the garden with no emotion,
Their faces were plain; they couldn’t see a thing". I think it brought out the idea that there is chaos in the fact that they just committed life with each other but they can't see the future or maybe weren't ready.
