Spelunking by Connor Kaplan

Spelunking by Connor Kaplan
The sun rising over
the mountains saying
the day is over.
But my day has just begun.
These mountains are special.
A hole deeper than
any other, exist here.
To the center of the
planet some say.
Today I shall go
into it, never to
be seen again,
but I am ok with that.
Living life to the
fullest. So I jump
using ropes of metal.
At first I notice
the light is gone,
and then I feel cold.
Cold? It should get warmer!
I feel like am in
the mantel by now.
hot enough to make
diamonds the size of
cars. But then I see
a tunnel, do I dare?
Why not? So I swing to it
and walk through the hole
in a larger hole.
until I see a light.
But there should be no light.
Am I still alive?
