Help by Kevin Du

Help by Kevin Du

May brings rain and desire
And tulips that sprout from acidic soils
Safely concealed in the depths of shadows of
Trees with flowers that blossom
Only to be slaughtered by torrential downpour.

June brings heat and bliss
Drops of water on glasses of ice,
And reunited songbirds, to give
A sense of revival in a desolate land
Drowned in remorse

July brings family and freedom,
First glances for newborns, and
Longing for distant songbirds.
But in the fields clovers grow
with hopes to see you once again.
