poem

I stood, knowing
What I had to do
To fix this mess

The sun inflated me
With inspiration

This wasn’t the life
I intended to lead

The ground around me
Sparkled and I
Began to run

I wasn’t sure
Where I was going

Just out of there

I knew that I
Couldn’t return to
The life of a
Sellout

The birds
Seemed to whisper
In agreement

The universe
Was on my side

At last everything
Seemed connected,
A harmonious song
That was all life

The energy
Rose throughout the
Oregon air,

I could see it rise,
As a chapter of
My life ended,
And another begun
