(best version) funny poem

The Lemur and the Horse
By: Lauren Jernberg

In the forest on a horse
There lived a lemur, grey of course.

They lived together in harmony,
And never really cared for tea.

Henry’s the lemur and Lenny’s the horse.
They talked and talked until they were hoarse.

One day they came upon a tree
With two big eyes so it could see.

Henry climbed up to look and see
But this was just an ordinary tree.

Now Lenny yelled get down from there
You will rip out all its hair.

Henry laughed but did not know
Behind him was a big, black crow.

Surprised to hear the black crow squawk
Henry fell and hit the sidewalk.

Henry hit the ground so hard
He might end up in the graveyard.

But no the lemur jumped in the air
And told the horse they were a pair.

Then Henry got back on the horse
But Lenny said without remorse,

I Like you better than that tree,
Thanks a lot for carrying me!

Henry thought and thought and thought
What is all this silly talk,

“You are a smart and clever horse
So why not try another course.

Lets ride to the railroad track
And I will treat you to a snack.”

The lemur and the horse were glad

That they didn't make each other mad.
