The
Lemur and the Horse

In
the forest on a horse
There
lived a lemur, grey of course.
They
lived together in harmony,
And
never really cared for tea.
Henry’s the lemur and Lenny’s the horse.
They
talked and talked until they were hoarse.
One
day they came upon a tree
With
two big eyes so it could see.
Henry climbed up to look and see
But
this was just an ordinary tree.
Now
Lenny yelled get down from there
You
will rip out all its hair.
Henry laughed but did not know
Behind
him was a big, black crow.
Surprised
to hear the black crow squawk
Henry fell and hit the sidewalk.
Henry hit the ground so hard
He
might end up in the graveyard.
But
no the lemur jumped in the air
And
told the horse they were a pair.
Then Henry got back on the horse
But
Lenny said without remorse,
I
Like you better than that tree,
Thanks
a lot for carrying me!
Henry
thought and thought and thought
What
is all this silly talk,
“You are a smart and clever horse
So
why not try another course.
Lets
ride to the railroad track
And
I will treat you to a snack.”
The
