Green

Green by 7792

Rain droplets fall creating puddles
Soaking into stained boards
As regretful birds find shelter
Under evergreen branches nestling for warmth
In May Winters.

Overcast shadows shine on
Denizens of gray climate,
Stuttering about living anxious lives.

Any day, spring will return and anxiety
Wants to turn into celebration.

Spring is supposed to be green.
As green as your eyes.
The sun is supposed to shine down
On your cheeks
Turning them rosy like I used to love.
Like I still love.

Spring weather is meant for the twirling of your dress
To show off new wear that you once
Grew excited to show me.
Hair is supposed to drape your face
As you twirl,
As green eyes beam from underneath,
Reflecting off the glow of your smile
That once used to show.

But now you’re gone,
And this gray weather reflects
The first spring without you.
