tasteless by Abhishek Raol

Tasteless
By Abhishek Raol

Never heard a person resent it’s taste
Never heard a person find it delicious

Like nothing in the form of liquid
Yet this nothing is everywhere
And in everyone

Gushing, rushing, sitting,
Pouring, drowning, draining
Falling, floating, Flying

Flowing through our earths veins
When her heart beats faster
The water moves more violently

Carving canyons and crushing rocks
Pressing sand and wetting beaches
Hiding in caves with spiders and snakes

Or dancing with the dolphins
It’s born in the heavens and falls out of the sky
Like an army of bees attacking the ground

Then making its nest in the soil
Burying in it like a hibernating mole
Until it sprouts its green leaves out of the ground

It’s created its own sea of green far from any ocean
Or walked out of the ocean to eat a city
Forcing its path to the most exotic places

It skis down the tallest mountains
It’s touched the bottom of the ocean
Been eaten and spit out

Cold, hard, warm, wet or light
Bipolar and unpredictable
A monster to some and an angel for all

I need it and I fear it
More powerful and abundant than all
But what does it taste like?
