No Eggs (short story) By Ellyssa Pearce

The daylight rising
Making windows glow
I wake with the blind
Then shower it away
The bed has my indent
But fresh and new
I drink coffee
Soak in sunlight
Reach for his hand
Kiss his drowsy smile
Happy to see me
I walk out the door
Through segmented rock
The path I am on
Not the treacherous one
There are no eggs
