Lemur and the Horse (Funny-ish poem)

Lemur and the horse By Lauren Jernberg

In the wild on a horse
There lived a lemur that was coarse.

They lived together in harmony,
And never really cared for tea.

Their names were Hennery and Lenny of course
Hennery the lemur and Lenny the horse.

One day they came upon a tree
With two big eyes so it could see.

Hennery climbed up to look and see
But this was just an ordinary tree.

Now Lenny yelled get down form there
You will rip out all its hair.

Hennery laughed but did not know
Behind him was a big, black…sloth.

Swat upon the head
Hennery fell off the tree.

To where his favorite horse would be.
He went to climb upon his back

But Lenny had other plans.
“I walk all day and walk all night lets switch places.”

“You are a gigantic horse
It would feel like carrying a corpse”

And then Lenny cried.
For who would like being called a corpse.

So all the way to the railroad track
Lenny road on Hennery’s back.
