The Sun Rising Over the Mountains by Dan-Vy Nguyen

The sun rising over,

The sun beating down,

As I lay in the grass,

Enjoying the beginning.

The sun rising over,

As I finally

Get to drive home,

After a long night.

            I enjoy working,

            Especially in

            Emergency.

There actually are

Doctors that time of night

And the nursing staff

Is so much fun.

            It is so gorgeous

            Outside this afternoon.

            A perfect day

            To lie in the grass.

            It is warm enough

            For shirts and a tank

            But cool enough

            Because of the wind.

                        There’s a family

Spending the afternoon

Here in the park.

As the little boy

Runs around, his

Little baby

Sister cries out.

           

I can’t wait until

The day I start

My own family.

To be able to

Enjoy the unplugged

Activities with.

                        As the sun goes down

                        And the wind remains,

                        I start getting chills.

                        Maybe it’s time

                        To go back home.
