October or May
By Jimmy Chen
October is like a basketball,
Orange, black and bouncy.
May is like a baseball,
White like the clouds
And round like the perfect sun.
Earlier today biking down a 2way,
The beautiful spring trees talked spoke,
And the curves of the road were astonishing,
Unsire if the biker is in the lane,
But, oh well, who cares,
That is not my problem.
A memory that brings sadness,
Then comes the loneliness,
The sun brings tears to the eyes,
If that was even needed,
As you continue walking down
The sun brings tears to the eyes,
If that was even needed
The big trees begin shading
You from direct sunlight.
Once in a dream, I was
Submerged beneat tropical waters,
Drowning, it seemed, but very graceful,
My mind was clear as the clean water,
And I began to think about the
Preciousness of a full life.
I never thought life could be so controlled
And graceful like the routine of a dance
If your movements and steps take fault,
The result is failure
But if done correctly,
Success is imminent.
Believe me, what happened next
is bigger than the human body
Those who are tall get looked up to like the sky
Even when it wants to be alone.
The worst thing ever said to me
Was with body language.
These days I’m like a gymnast
Trying to be flexible and move
tasks around to achieve a goal.
The goal is high and requires
Extentions but practice will
Make it routine.
Listen, life is a competition at it’s finest.
Once in October,
I met someone truly special
They changed my life
Though their influence was great
I was left with a feeling
Of longing
Lonliness bounces
Back and forth
Like the basketballs
In October
But it is not October,
It is May.
