The Castle By: Lauren Jernberg

She’s a little girl of three years old
Waiting for someone in her bedroom.
She waits for her brother and what he brings,
A box full of blocks and other things.

Waiting for someone in her bedroom
The little girl gets excited at what she sees.
A box full of blocks and other things.
They play together, it’s their favorite thing.

The little girl gets excited at what she sees.
Her eyes light up like sparkling rings.
They play together, it’s their favorite thing.
And the castle gets built for all to see.

Her eyes light up like sparkling rings.
There are blocks of all colors soft to touch.
And the castle gets built for all to see.
It is beautiful, crisp, and clean.

There are blocks of all colors soft to the touch.
The castle they make is better than most.
It is beautiful, crisp, and clean.
They go get their mom to show her what they can do.

The castle they make is better than most.
They are very proud of what they made.
They go get their mom to show her what they can do.
But evil has been lurking around.

They are very proud of what they made.
Their masterpiece is finally done.
But evil has been lurking around.
Their baby sister knocked it to the ground.

 Their masterpiece is finally done.
Their mom with them going back to the room.
Their baby sister knocked it to the ground.
But alas, no regret could be found.
