Balloons By Erika Beaver
There
once was a girl who thought she could fly
She
gathered all the balloons she could find
And
asked her dad to tie them to her arms
No
one had ever seen so many balloons
She
gathered all the balloons she could find
The
smell of honeysuckle filled the air
No
one had ever seen so many balloons
People
were gathered all around the yard
The
smell of honeysuckle filled the air
What
a beautiful day for a wedding
People
were gathered all around the yard
The
pool was filled with kids happily playing
What
a beautiful day for a wedding
There
were flowers and balloons everywhere
The
pool was filled with kids happily playing
The
girl looked for the perfect place to fly
There
were flowers and balloons everywhere
The
air was filled with laughter and sunshine
The
girl looked for the perfect place to fly
Off
of stairs, or tables, or the hill near by
The
air was filled with laughter and sunshine
The
girl was effervescent as always
Off
of stairs, or tables, or the hill near by
Her
joy brought a smile to grandma’s face
The
girl was effervescent as always
The
other kids were jealous of her balloons
Her
joy brought a smile to grandma’s face
She
had a wild imagination
The
other kids were jealous of her balloons
She
felt lighter, like she could really fly
She
had a wild imagination
An
imagination that never died
