A Familiar Aroma (Pantoum) By Blin Dixon

Anticipation pulsated through veins.
Air filled with an acquainted aroma.
Others giggled when we finally met.
I awaited a whole new perspective.

Air filled with an acquainted smell.
And she caressed my lips carefully, while
I awaited a whole new perspective.
Then she expanded throughout my body.

And she caressed my lips carefully, while
I kicked her out of the home she just knew.
Then she expanded throughout my body,
I thought to myself what would mother think?

I kicked her out of the home she just knew,
but she had made a lasting impression.
I thought to myself what would mother think,
with me stupidly giggling around.

But she had made a lasting impression.
My train of thought was derailed and sent off
with me stupidly giggling around.
And it stopped somewhere I can’t quite describe.

My train of thought was derailed and sent off
with me riding inside, feeling lifted,
and it stopped somewhere I can’t  quite describe…
somewhere near an utmost colorful sun.

With me riding inside, feeling lifted,
feeling nimble, feeling new, feeling numb,
somewhere near an utmost colorful sun.
It was my turn once more, I grabbed the gun.

Feeling nimble, feeling new, feeling numb,
time for me to cough, laugh and have some fun.
It was my turn once more, I grabbed the gun.
I pulled the trigger, and lifted my thumb…

  1. I really like " Feeling nimble, feeling new, feeling numb". I like the way it sounds when I say it out loud. Good job!
