Doggy Dress Up by Kimberly Coverly

Doggy Dress Up by Kimberly Coverly

The young girl comes barreling through the door
The dog sleeps tirelessly on the floor
She sits down to pet his short hair
She has no homework, nor any care.

The dog sleeps tirelessly on the floor
He opens one eye to keep an eye on the door
She has no homework, nor any care.
Today, she will play with him anywhere.

He opens one eye to keep an eye on the door,
He knows today will be a day he abhors
Today, she will play with him anywhere,
She knows just what to do with those chairs.

He knows today will be a day he abhors,
She is so young, just the ripe age of four.
She knows just what to do with those chairs,
She looks at him and tells him to play fair.

She is so young, just the ripe age of four.
She pushes the chairs using her core.
She looks at him and tells him to play fair.
He sighs in response, he better not dare.

She pushes the chairs using her core,
A bed is fashioned before he can snore.
He sighs in response, he better not dare,
Toady, he’ll just have to bare.

A bed is fashioned before he can snore,
She lifts him up onto it without getting sore.
Today, he’ll just have to bare,
She picks out clothes that will add some flare.

She lifts him up onto it without getting sore,
Looking for outfits in her mom’s dresser drawers.
She picks out clothes that will add some flare,
She grabs one shirt, then decides on a pair.
