My Awakening- by Heidi Curtis

My Awakening

Twirling and dancing like a sparkler.
After a long and dark pause.
Wisps of blonde hair and excited blue eyes
Lock on her microphone: the brush.

After a long and dark pause
her tiny hands of only three
Lock on her microphone: the brush.
Alone in her living room she performs.

Her tiny hands of only three
Swaying and clapping to the melody
Alone in her living room she performs
The alphabet song; her favorite tune.

Twirling and dancing like a sparkler.
She crackles and laughs full of energy,
Wisps of blonde hair and excited blue eyes
She is now a star!

She crackles and laughs full of energy,
Boasting each note with pride,
She is now a star!
Her biggest fan enters the room.

Boasting each note with pride,
She hardly notices when
Her biggest fan enters the room.
Excited by an audience she flounces and flaunts.

She hardly notices when
Her mother makes a request
Excited by an audience she flounces and flaunts,
She sings the tune her mother picked.

Her mother makes a request
Again, she happily complies
She sings the tune her mother picked.
Her mind awakens from this moment.
