Flying Lesson by Kimberly Stutevoss
Cleaning her
room the kids sit on the bed
Before she
leaves the room for the vacuum
She says, “stay
on the bed, I’ll be right back.”
She turns her
back and walks out of the room
Before she
leaves the room for the vacuum
The daughter
smirks and has an idea
She turns her
back and walks out of the room
“Hide under
those pillows we will scare mom”
The daughter
smirks and has an idea
The son goes
under the pillows to hide
“Hide under
those pillows we will scare mom”
Below the window
sill he hides and waits
The son goes
under the pillows to hide
Waiting to yell
surprise to his mother
Below the window
still he hides and waits
The girl waits
on the bed with a big smile
Waiting to yell
surprise to his mother
She returns and
only sees her daughter
The girl waits on
the bed with a big smile
“Where is Franklin?”
she asks but no response
She returns and
only sees her daughter
The girl
pretends not to know where he is
“Where is
Franklin?” she asks but no response
Giving in the
girl points to the pillows
The girl pretends
not to know where he is
Under the
pillows the boy is not there
Giving in the
girl points to the pillows
The window is
open and screen popped out
Under the
pillows the boy is not there
He learned to
fly but landed on the ground
The window is
open and screen popped out
The mom can hear
his cries from up above
He learned to
fly but landed on the ground
She races down
the stairs to get her boy
The mom can hear
his cries from up above
She embraces
him, not a scratch is there
