Waking up By Connor Kaplan

Waking up(Memory Pantoum) By Connor Kaplan
As the child woke up
he noticed a bird
The boy said “panwin”
in confusion

He noticed a bird
and that he was not at home
in confusion
his eyes filled with tears

And that he was not home
made him scared and
his eyes filled with tears.
All alone in a strange room.

Made him scared and
a lady looked through the curtain.
All alone in a strange room?
She looked at him and said “Oh he is awake.”

A lady looked through the curtain.
The boy still crying.
She looked at him and said “Oh he is awake.”
And she disappeared.

The boy still crying
noticed a gap in his mouth.
And she disappeared.
Three teeth were missing.

Noticed a gap in his mouth.
The boy stopped the tears.
Three teeth were missing.
The boy’s parents peered through the curtain.

The boy stopped the tears
to notice something else.
The boy’s parents peered through the curtain,
To only be crying for joy.
